Adivasi Body products are handmade in New Milford, CT. Rachel Tuleja was introduced to the benefits essential oils while working as a buyer at a flavor house, where she sourced essential oils & ingredients throughout the world. Rachel became interested in the healing properties of essential oils & how they had been used in different cultures throughout the centuries. Blending her love of Reiki, (an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction & relaxation that also promotes healing) with her knowledge of essential oils, she began to look for a way to create gentle, natural healing soaps and body products.

Inspired by Nature. Adivasi Body is committed to creating creating a natural alternative to mass produced bath & body products, which most often contain harmful chemicals & toxins. It is our goal to create an aromatherapy experience that will reawaken our senses & remind us of our deep connection to the earth.

The Adivasi Body name was inspired by the tribal people of India, the Adivasi. Their culture was built on a foundation of equality and respect for all forms of life, including plants and animals. It is believed that Buddha took much of his inspiration from the Adivasi because of their deep connection to nature. It is also thought that the roots of Ayurvedic medicine date back to the Adivasi.
